Find personal fulfillment over success with these four guidelines:
- Know your motivations –
- They might be competition, money, and collaboration, but think of specific things that work for you as an individual
- I am motivated to write stories and teach/help others.
- Create what you do best that layers onto your formal training or life experience.
- Be yourself.
- Know your choices –
- Name any successful leader in any industry from business to the arts.
- The common trait is how they got to there:
- The Main Entrance – Where everyone waits in line,
- The VIP Entrance – Where celebrities or the wealthy enter
- Mindset – Where you break your way in.
- Read Steven Spielberg’s story on how he became the youngest director ever to get a seven-year deal with Universal.
- Know your Strategies
- There’s no one right way to do something. Learn from books and others and the way that works best for you.
- Success is understanding the challenges of the future = optimism = willingness to pay your dues.
- Ignore the destination
- It’s not in your control.
- You will have some embarrassing fuck-ups along the way.
- Nobody knows they’re going to get ‘there” until they are.
- Celebrate along the way.
