Everybody is Crushing It Except You

Find personal fulfillment over success with these four guidelines:

1. Know your motivations –
   1. They might be competition, money, and collaboration, but think of specific things that work for you as an individual
   2. I am motivated to write stories and teach/help others.
   3. Create what you do best that layers onto your formal training or life experience.
   4. Be yourself.
2. Know your choices –
   1. Name any successful leader in any industry from business to the arts.
   2. The common trait is how they got to there:
      1. The Main Entrance – Where everyone waits in line,
      2. The VIP Entrance – Where celebrities or the wealthy enter
      3. Mindset – Where you break your way in.
         1. Read Steven Spielberg’s story on how he became the youngest director ever to get a seven-year deal with Universal.
3. Know your Strategies
   1. There’s no one right way to do something. Learn from books and others and the way that works best for you.
   2. Success is understanding the challenges of the future = optimism = willingness to pay your dues.
4. Ignore the destination
   1. It’s not in your control.
   2. You will have some embarrassing fuck-ups along the way.
   3. Nobody knows they’re going to get ‘there” until they are.
   4. Celebrate along the way.
