Transform your 2023 with our free personal review journal. Step 2: DESIGN. Use our simple 6-word formula to create a roadmap for success and achieve your goals with clarity and purpose.

Using the Year-End Personal Review-Journal – Step 1- REFLECT

Posted by Marcelo Bermudez

I have a free downloadable personal review journal using six words to transform your 2023.

Here are some of my responses for my year-end review.

The first word is: REFLECT

What are some wins/losses in 2022? What did you change your mindset about? How has it improved your life?

Losses include:

  • Time Kills Deals – After working on a $4.0M business sale for nine months, it fell apart because of a disingenuous seller.

In my goal to be respectful/accommodating of his age and declining health, I loosened the grip instead of requiring his follow-through and meeting the dates/deadlines for all parties involved.

Any good advisor knows time kills deals but I let my kindness get in the way of the goal.

  • Failing to Ask for Help – Caring for an elderly parent with #dementia is a tough commitment.

I have no regrets, but the lack of qualified nursing/CNA care that showed up on time and did a good job was real. I ended up burning most of my mornings this year getting my mother up, dressed, fed, and whatever else was required to ensure her safety.

It strained my mood to the point that my wife and kids noted I seemed upset or sad more than usual.

It also made me feel like I was a lousy businessperson because of my perfectionist/unrealistic expectations of myself.

Wins include:

  • More Systems in Place – I hired a tech ops person at the end of 2021 to help me build out systems within my Zoho One platform from forms to emails, drip campaigns, auto follow-ups, and automating anything I could do to duplicate myself.

The notices were visible as I was able to care for my elderly mother and still get responses and marketing out on a daily basis.

  • Writing Daily Social Media Posts – This was a big step for me. I didn’t think people would care for anything I might have to say. I didn’t get serious until Summer of 2022 when I didn’t miss a day of posting seven days a week.

My post impressions exceeded nearly 70,000. Engagements were choppy but it helped me fine-tune what I should be writing about.

2023 will be exciting.

It will require many days of “mouthpiece in, helmet on” full contact to help clients manage the rough waters ahead.

I can’t wait!

Download the journal for yourself and spend some time alone to ensure you make 2023 your year your way.

I write seven days a week to help business owners and real estate investors:

✅ Accelerate value,

✅ Become better leaders,

✅ Access capital
