I’ve been posting every day for the last 40 days.
Writing allows me to focus on what I offer and to whom.
The discipline helps me remove the temptation to be everything to everyone.
As I plan out my week of topics on Sunday, I notice the excitement in figuring out what my writing will bring.
I can’t wait to write.
The discipline crossed over into my exercise life.
After finishing a boxing class, I decided to lap swim.
I hadn’t been in a pool in four years.
Even though I was nervous, I finished eight laps last week.
I had to stop mid-lap to catch my breath a few times.
Breathing while swimming is a skill requiring enormous concentration.
I’m building the same muscle required for staying focused during the workday.
Today, I finished 20 laps before 7 am. A holiday. I saw the sunrise again.
I used the discipline to challenge my mind and go beyond my self-imposed limitations.
Next goal?
Improved flip turn and finishing four laps without stopping.
