Friday Reflection Post: Markets Change Fast. Relationships Change Faster

Posted by Marcelo Bermudez
Dispute Doctor Peanuts 3 White Background
Every time the Fed signals a rate cut, investors scramble to update models, adjust projections, and prepare for the next move.

But while people obsess over the spreadsheets, something more important is happening:

The relationship between partners is shifting, sometimes faster than the market itself.

Rate cuts create:

  • urgency for some
  • anxiety for others
  • opportunity for a few
  • overwhelm for many

The partner who:

  • pushed for stability last year now wants to grow.
  • pushed for growth is suddenly cautious.
  • was indifferent now has a strong opinion.
  • stayed quiet now wants control.

Markets change.
Priorities change.
People change.

The question is: Can the relationship change with them?

The partnership, not the asset, determines the future.

If the relationship stays aligned, almost any market cycle can be navigated.

If it doesn’t, no rate cut can fix it.
