Hello Friends and Family:
I am reaching out to you because I wanted to give you a quick update and ask a quick favor.
Don’t worry, I’m not asking money or for you to support a political candidate.
Here’s the background:
Since the pandemic began, I had a chance to sit still for a moment and as the world muddled through getting to a vaccine, I began to map
out my steps Post COVID. The pandemic has proven to be an accelerant of what is possible and I took a lot of notes. And because of it, I chose to make an investment in myself by increasing my skill-set.
New Skills
I became a certified brand strategist and business strategist with New York University’s Stern School of Business Scott Galloway
and his company, Section 4. I earned my designation as a Certified Exit Planning Advisor with the Exit Planning Institute, and recently completed my certification as a civil and commercial mediator which is recognized by the State Bar of California.
All while enjoying almost ten years of marriage to my lovely wife, Lizbett, adopting my kids, enjoying my four dogs, caring for my elderly
parents, making improvements to my home and writing a book called “You’re Our Only Hope: Why You need to Look in the Mirror to Save the World” – I call it self help you’re not embarrassed to buy.
Most recently, I was selected by the Ventura County Leadership Academy to be part of their 2021-2022 cohort which exposes me to critical
issues in my region from education, healthcare, economic development, arts & culture, agriculture and housing.
Well, how many jobs do you have, Marcelo? Well, only one really – and that’s to help others. Whether it is through capital access,
mediation, or exit planning, I’m just helping.
Another way I want to help is through paid keynote and motivational speaking opportunities. I think I have a great story to tell
because of all the people who have helped me along the way. Recently, the founder of the Fulfillment Fund, Dr. Gary Gitnick, passed away. As I sat with Lizbett at the funeral and then as we went to pay our Shiva call, I couldn’t help but feel like I had a call to action. Every time I sat with Dr. Gitnick over the last 30 years, not only did I leave with my heart full, I felt like I could be doing more. This man was a true example of what it meant to live your life to the fullest. I want to leave the same legacy for my family and community.
The keynote and motivational speaking business, like any other, is that even though you know the client’s pain point and the value you
can bring, you have to show them. This is where you come in.
